# Read your notifications.

The bell in the app lists what needs your attention, grouped as Open and Earlier. Each notification is Critical, Warning or Info, and you can mark one or all as read.

Last updated October 14, 2026

## What can raise a notification.

**Changes that could not be added to your history** Shows how many changes could not be recorded.

**Importing a resource did not finish** Actorly's first read of a kind of record failed.

**Your plan keeps a number of months of history** Tells you the date from which older changes will be removed, and that Actorly Restore keeps all of your history.

**A customer data request is waiting for your reply** Shopify sent a request on behalf of a customer.

## Use the bell.

1 **Open the bell.** Notifications shows the unread count.

2 **Read the group.** Open items come first, then Earlier.

3 **Mark as read.** Choose Mark as read on one, or Mark all as read.

4 **Load more.** Choose Load older notifications for earlier ones.

5 **Choose View.** A notification with a View button closes the list and takes you to the page it is about, and to the part of the page it names, even when you are already on that page.

When nothing is waiting it says "You are all caught up".

## When the bell cannot check.

If Actorly could not load your notifications, it says so and that this does not mean there is nothing new. If it could not check for open items, a gap in your history or a failed import may exist that is not listed.

## Questions.

### Does the bell say I have no problems?

Only when it says "You are all caught up". If it could not check, it says that instead and does not claim there is nothing open.

### Where else do I see what needs attention?

On Overview, under Needs your attention. See [the Overview](https://actorly.app/docs/getting-started/overview).
