# Shopify collection history.

Actorly records changes to a collection's title, handle, description, sort order and image, with the value before and after each change. It can put a collection's title, description or sort order back, one field at a time. It does not show who changed a collection.

## What Actorly records.

Title, handle, description, sort order and the collection image are recorded, with the value before and after each change. Swapping a collection's image is tracked, because Shopify gives a replaced image a new address.

Shopify notifies Actorly when a collection changes, and Actorly reads the record again to capture exactly what changed.

## When a collection's order changes.

A change to a collection's sort order is recorded as a change with the old value, the new value and the time. If a collection's order looks different from yesterday, the history shows whether a sort order change was recorded and when. Timing is what Shopify gives; Actorly shows it as timing and never states a cause.

Putting a collection's sort order back is a Restore plan feature.

## What can be put back.

- Title: the free plan's one restore a month, or the Restore plan.
- Description: the free plan's one restore a month, or the Restore plan.
- Sort order: the Restore plan only.

A restore checks the field first, asks you to confirm the exact value, writes it, then asks Shopify again to confirm the value took. If someone edited the field since you opened the restore, Actorly stops rather than overwrite a change you have not seen.

## Who changed a collection.

Actorly does not claim a name for collection changes. It shows what changed and when. Shopify's activity log may name the person, app or channel behind an action, and you can look there too.

The record starts the day Actorly is installed. It cannot show what your store looked like before that.

## Questions.

### Can I see a collection's old title or description?

Yes, from the day Actorly is installed: each recorded change shows the value before and after. The record starts the day Actorly is installed. It cannot show what your store looked like before that.

### Can I put a collection's sort order back?

Yes, on Actorly Restore, one collection at a time. Actorly checks the field first and asks Shopify again afterwards to confirm the value took.

### Can Actorly tell me who changed a collection?

Not today. Actorly shows what changed and when for collections, and does not claim a name.

### Does Actorly record which products are in a collection?

The coverage notes list a collection's title, handle, description, sort order and image as the recorded fields. They do not list which products belong to it, so Actorly does not claim it.

### Can I put a collection's title back on the free plan?

Yes. A collection's title and description can use the free plan's one restore a month. Sort order needs Restore.

### How long is history kept?

Actorly Watch keeps three months (90 days) of change history. Actorly Restore keeps history for as long as the store stays on Restore and Actorly stays installed. If a store moves from Restore to Watch, history older than 90 days is deleted after a 14-day notice, and upgrading again does not bring it back.
