Check your store details and choose a language

Choose Account in the app's menu to see what Shopify has told Actorly about your store. None of it can be edited in Actorly, because it comes from Shopify and is not Actorly's to change. The language Actorly is shown in is chosen from a button in Shopify's title bar, not on the Account page, and it never changes what your customers see.

What is on the Account page?

Account has two sections: Plan and Store details. Plan shows your current plan and what each plan includes, and is explained in Compare Actorly Watch and Actorly Restore. Store details lists what Shopify has told Actorly about the store. Actorly never takes payment itself: Shopify bills the plan, and you change or cancel it from Shopify's own plan page.

Above the page sits a banner when something about your plan needs saying. The banners are covered below.

How do I check my store details?

1Open Account. Choose Account in the app's menu.
2Find Store details. It lists the Store domain, Store owner, Notification email, Time zone, Currency, Shopify plan and when Actorly installed.
3Read where a value is missing. Where Shopify has not told Actorly a value, the row says "Shopify has not told Actorly this".
The lower rows of Store details: Time zone, Currency, Shopify plan and Actorly installed
The last four rows of Store details. The store domain, owner and email rows above them are not shown.

Every value is read from Shopify when Actorly is installed and again whenever Actorly reconnects to your store, and nothing on this page can be edited in Actorly. The page deliberately does not show the owner's login email. To change a detail, change it in Shopify.

How do I choose the language Actorly is shown in?

1Find the language button. In Shopify's title bar at the top of Actorly there is a button showing the current language in its own name, for example "English".
2Open it. A menu lists the languages Actorly is available in, with a check mark on the current one.
3Choose a language. Actorly keeps your choice. If the change fails, an inline banner reads "Could not change the language. Try again." and stays until you try again.

Until you choose one, Actorly follows your Shopify admin language when it first loads.

What do the plan banners on Account say?

At most one banner shows at a time, the most important first.

BannerWhat it saysWhat it means
Actorly could not read your plan"This is a problem reaching Shopify, not a change to your plan. Nothing about your subscription has changed."Actorly could not read the plan it holds for your store. Your subscription has not changed. Try again shortly.
Actorly could not confirm this plan with Shopify"The plan shown below is the safest assumption Actorly can make, not a confirmed answer. If you are on a paid plan, your access is unaffected while this resolves."Until Actorly can confirm, it shows the safest plan.
Your plan ends soon"Shopify has this subscription set to end on {{date}}. To keep unlimited history and restores, renew it on Shopify before then."Shown only within 30 days of the end date.

In some cases a quiet line under the plan says why it resolved the way it did, for example "The paid period for this store has ended." It is not shown for an ordinary live subscription. The page also says when the plan was last confirmed, shown only when that is over a day old, or "Actorly has never successfully confirmed this plan with Shopify."

If something goes wrong

  • The plan banner says Actorly could not confirm the plan. This is not a change to your subscription. The app treats a plan it cannot confirm as the safest one, which is Actorly Watch, and says so. See Upgrade, downgrade or cancel Actorly.
  • The language did not change. Choose it again. If the banner stays, the setting was not saved.
  • A detail on this page is wrong. Fix it in Shopify. Actorly reads these details at install and again when it reconnects to your store, so Account may not show a later change straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit my store name or email in Actorly?

No. None of it is Actorly's to change. Change it in Shopify.

Why does a value say "Shopify has not told Actorly this"?

Shopify did not give Actorly that value when it last read it, and Actorly shows the gap instead of filling it in.

Where do I change plan?

In Shopify's plan page, which opens from the buttons in the Plan section. Shopify handles all billing for Actorly.

Does changing the language change my storefront?

No. It changes Actorly only.

Why is there no language setting on the Account page?

The language is chosen from the button in Shopify's title bar. The Account page has only Plan and Store details.
