How it is worked out.
For product changes, Actorly matches the change against Shopify's own activity log for that product at that time. That's a correlation, and Actorly shows it as one: the name always sits next to a word that says how sure Actorly is.
The five answers.
Who can appear.
- A staff member, by the name Shopify gives. Shopify gives a display name only, so two people with the same name look the same.
- An app, by its name, or Third-party app when Shopify gives none. Actorly cannot see who used the app.
- Shopify, for changes its own systems make.
- Actorly, for a restore you approved.
Where Shopify records nobody for that kind of change, such as inventory, shipping or themes, Actorly can tell you what changed and when, but not who, and shows Unknown. It never fills that in later. See which parts show who.
The same on both plans.
Who made a change works the same on Actorly Watch and Actorly Restore, permanently.
Questions.
Does Actorly guess who made a change?
No. It shows a name only when an entry in Shopify's activity log lines up with the change, and says how sure it is. When it cannot, it says Unknown.
Why does a change say Not attributed yet?
Actorly is still checking Shopify's activity log. If it finds no one within 24 hours, the change becomes Unknown and stays that way.
Can I see who changed my inventory or my theme?
No. Shopify does not record who made those changes, so Actorly shows what changed and when, with Unknown for who.
